- I hope that you are proud of the three of us. We gave our best, I swear we did. And thank you for the bravery which we inherited from you. You are our hero - wrote Katarina Petkovic (23), the daughter of the police reserve Bozo Petkovic, who was murdered by a sniper shot 20 years ago by a member of Kosovo Liberation Army in the village Orlate on Kosovo.

Bozo died three weeks after his younger daughter Andjela was born. Older Katarina was only 3 years old, although his wife begged him not to return to the war, he couldn't abandon his friends.

The last time she saw him was on Good Friday, April 6, 1999. Two weeks later, on April 19th, the bullet struck him right through the heart, after that, his company fell into an ambush of the Terrorist liberation army of Kosovo. He bled out after a few minutes and died on the hands of his best friend.

His three girls, wife and two daughters, remember him each day, but Katarina always reminds everybody on the anniversary about his feat and bravery of this young man, sacrificing his 26 years of age to defend his homeland.

- 20 years ago, in the fight against the terrorists on Kosovo, my father died who was just 26 years old. My mother was 22. I was just 3. My sister was born and she was 20 days old. I can't believe it has been 20 years... I hope that you are proud of the three of us. Of the mother, on me, your little geek. On your ballerina and the little freckled miracle. We gave our best.
