Marjan delivered his wife on the way to the hospital: I have seen the baby's head, staring at me, as if she wants to say: "Dad, take me out" (PHOTO)

Marjan Petkovic (32) from the village Balajnac of Merosina municipality performed a feat today when he delivered his wife Adriana in his car which when they went to the maternity hospital. Although he didn't have any medical experience, Petkovic performed the delivery as a professional, and the mother and the firstborn arrived in hospital in good condition.

Midwife Natalija Milosevic, the friend of the young couple, made sure that everything is in order, she gave instructions to Marjan over the phone. The overjoyed father said that the baby came so fast that he didn't have the time to be afraid.

THE WATER BROKE IN CAR 

- Andrijana started having pains during the night, so we went to the next village Batusinac first thing in the morning to get to Natalija so she could come with us because we were afraid that the delivery might happen on the way to the hospital. However, the baby couldn't wait, at the entrance of the village, Andrijana's water broke, right before Natalija's house she shouted that it has begun. When I turned to the back seat, I have seen the babies head. Staring at me, as if she wants to say: "Dad, take me out" - describes Petkovic the birth of his daughter.

Marjan called Natalija on the phone, and he learned that she wasn't home.

- I freaked out when I found out that I had to do everything on my own. Natalija was calming me down, he told me how to take the baby and to gently take it out, and then to massage it on the back to cry. I did everything she told me, I have seen that it was a girl, I wrapped her into the towel and I gave her to Adrijana, then I stepped on the gas - said the overjoyed father.

The midwife said that he was shocked when he found out she wasn't home.

THEY ARE WAITING ON THE GODFATHER TO PICK A NAME 

- I have told him that he must calm down and he must listen to me carefully. He was worried because the baby wasn't crying right away, so I said to pat her on the back and she started crying. Also, I have told him to wrap the baby into something worm and to give her to the mother - describes Natalija her role in this unprecedented delivery.

Petkovic family are respected in this village where they have a store. The girl that came to this world yesterday is their third child. They still don't know what is the name going to be, said the happy parents. They decided that the godfather will name her.

It was announced from Nis hospital that the mother and the child are in good conditions.
