Don't play with fire! Dacic expressly warned Thaci: If you attack Serbs, we will defend them

The foreign affairs minister, Ivica Dacic said that it was not a threat when Serbia says that it will defend Serbs on Kosovo and Metohija if the attack on them occurs, but that is a warning to Pristina not to play with fire.

This is how Dacic reacted to the statement of Hashim Thaci that "Kosovo will answer with military and police to the threats of Serbia".

- No threats are coming from Serbia. It is not a threat when Serbia says - If you attack Serbs, we will defend them. What should we say - feel free to attack them? - said Dacic at the press conference with the chief of diplomacy of Granada.

He pointed out that international representatives were told that if KFOR does not guarantee security, what is required by UN Security Council Resolution 1244, and if an armed attack on Serbs comes, Serbia will defend the Serbs.

- No one can forbid us that, because in that case, the Resolution 1244 doesn't exist - said Dacic.

He said that the most important part of that resolution is not respected which states that the only security forces are KFOR, which must guarantee the safety of Serbs.

That attitude is not a threat, but a warning not to play with fire underlined Dacic.

- Their greatest threat is - themselves - he stressed.

As he said, after everything that Belgrade has done, one of the key factors that contributed to the position of Belgrade is the actions of Pristina.

- They are working against themselves, and I wouldn't like to get mixed up there, they are damaging themselves - said Dacic.

Commenting on the statement by Ramush Haradinaj that he will abolish the tax when Trump calls for talks, Dacic ironically commented: "He is now some big, important person, and Trump will invite him ...".

As he said, it is interesting that no one is thinking about how some compromise will come to be, but Pristina is now just thinking about how to abolish the tax, without looking stupid.

- That is why they founded a platform - we have abolished taxes because we have founder a platform. And they can just hang that platform like wallpaper, in the assembly, in the hallway - said Dacic.

He said that what Pristina is doing is no good, but they can keep doing that because they are on a good way to lose everything they got.

- Not it can be clearly seen who they supported and how attached they are to the west and how much they are willing to listen to the west - said Dacic.

He said that he personally has nothing against the EU enabling them visa liberalization, but they won't give it to them, because they know in Union that everybody will go there.

- If Kosovo is so good, why don't they get visas? They support them to go into Interpol and they don't give them visa libelarization... - said Dacic.
