A girl died after childbirth in Kragujevac, an investigation has been urgently launched

Ana M. has died on March 2 in the Clinical center in Kragujevac after the childbirth. An investigation has been launched in order to determine all the circumstances and facts which lead to the death outcome of the patient Ana M.

They announced from the Clinical Center that it was a woman who had a high-risk pregnancy (congenital thrombophilia, tendency to form a thrombus in the blood system, long-term treated weakness of the thyroid gland - Hashimoto's disease, high blood pressure in pregnancy), and she gave birth to a child on March 2, 2019, in the afternoon.

Right after the childbirth, there were complications, she was in the state of shock, which was followed by disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).

Such an acute condition implies the loss of almost all coagulation factors in a very short period and mortality is huge, over 90 percent.

Despite the timely and extensive reanimation, as well as the application of all measures and drugs, it was not possible for the fatal outcome to be avoided.
