Who is Josip Rodjak, the monster who threw four children from a terrace? He was selling stolen cars, has a bad temper, and relatives kept away from him

Josip Rodjak, who threw four of his children out of the window yesterday in Pag, was arrested last night around 23:00 and he was brought to the Zadar police station. He was charged for attempted murder.

The children, aged 3, 5, 7, and 8 were thrown from six meters. Two of them are not in life danger, while the two girls are in a very serious condition. The 7-year-old was injured the most, with the serious injuries of the head and chest. She was transported to the Clinical Hospital center in Zagreb, and she is stable.

Dr. Edij Karuc from the hospital in Zadar, who accepted the injured children, said that he has never seen anything like it. 

- Luckily for us, we have never seen anything like it. I have been anaesthesiologist for 20 years, and we have never seen anything like it. The worst feeling is when they bring you a small, bloody, bundled up child, who is not even crying due to heavy traumas, But, I have to say, we have done a great work - said this doctor.

WHO IS THE MAN WHO TRIED TO KILL HIS CHILDREN? 

Family and friends of Josip Rodjak in Virovitica never thought that he was such a monster. Just a few people were in contact with him because he moved out of Slavonia almost 15 years ago, and his temper was the second reason the relatives never talked with him.

- I don't know what has happened to him, it breaks my heart because of the children, I hope they will be well. Josip was problematic, he had troubles with the law due to the alleged illegal selling of the cars, he was working in Germany before this as a night guard in a camp. But, we could ever imagine that he could do something like this - said Dunja K, stepsister of Josip Rodjak, for Informational center Virovitica.

Other relatives stopped talking to him a long time ago, his own uncle Darko never saw him.

IS HE CRAZY OR SICK? 

Psychiatrist Herman Vukusic believes that for this act there can be only two reasons - whether it is serious psychopathy with a deep narcissistic disorder or state of affection or total craziness.

- A psychopath is someone whose personality is so structured and that is a condition that arises for years, not overnight. Such a situation is irreversible. As for the state of affection, it is the state of the clouded mind when the affection is controlling, and not the reason. The reasons can be many, some of them are medical cases and they are taken in consideration during trials, but it is difficult to speak about mitigating circumstance about this tragedy - said Dr. Vukusic for Index.
