The life story of the only Serbian woman (27) on Forbes list of the most successful: I got fired because I was not thin enough, I started the company overnight (VIDEO)

Tijana Tamburic (27) is a successful freelancer and co-founder of the company "Female Narratives", but also a former model, and two days ago she was included in Forbs' "30 below 30" list, where young, talented and successful people from all over the world are included.

On this list are numerous artists, successful economists, marketing experts, media experts, scientists, and she is in the category of media and marketing, on the well-known and recognized list, as a young co-founder of "Female Narratives". This company offers clients a new approach to marketing, directly linking the freelancers (over 100) with the brands for which they write.

The Serb who lives in London spoke with "Telegraf" and she revealed how she reached this success, and also who was her idol.

She was a model for 10 years (since she was 15) in one of the best agencies in the world. She was going to college at the time, UCL in London, which is among the top 10 in the world. She left the fashion world because she didn't fit in with the requests that were placed in front of her, she wasn't thin enough. 

- I was disappointed with the entire system of fashion and agencies, I realized that I can use my other skills and passions that the agency never encouraged. I always wanted to cooperate with the agency and to work with more interesting projects, and not just as a mode. I wanted to work as a writer because I did "freelancing" for several years as an art director - Tijana said.

This is what was missing, the room where she would present her writing. She met a lot of creative photographers, musicians, designers and freelancers who missed something as well.

- Instead of waiting for someone else to make it, I created my own site with my friend Franzy Klein - Tijana Tamburic said for Telegraf.

She is a friend before everything, and now she is also a co-founder, they were sitting and decided to do something for their selves and their branch. They were both models and freelancers, working on various projects, they needed a new platform for creativity.

- I worked as a journalist and a project manager, and Frenzy as a producer. We got an idea within an hour and we started the site that evening, the Instagram profile and a company in England - Tijana remembers.

Their clients are no companies like Bumble (an app that was started by a co-founder of Tinder), North Face (clothing and shoes), W Hotels, Squarespace (hosting company).

SHE ANSWERED FORBS FROM A BEACH IN MEXICO

This successful girl didn't know that she was nominated for Forbs List until she was sent a file that she was supposed to file in.

- I have filed the files from a beach in Mexico on January the 1st, and I had to finish it in one hour. After that, I didn't know anything about my application, until the day before yesterday when the list came out. I think I broke a record as a person who was the fastest to apply for Forbs list - Tijana said through laughter.

HER ONLY IDOL IS HER MOTHER

- My mother, prof. Danka Tamburic, she is my idol, because in 1992, when she was 8th months pregnant (carrying me in her belly) defended her Ph.D. thesis - she immediately answered.

She received the scholarship and she went to London. According to her, her mother, who is professor cosmetology, fought like a lion and she succeeded. She is now the professor of the London College of Fashion.

Tijana revealed what are her further plans, and what will happen with her career.

- March 8 is the birthday of our company, we are celebrating it in London with 100 women and we are planning all kinds of things for this year! New clients, global projects and a lot of collaboration - Tamburic.

Tijana made a short movie under the name "Homeland", where the footage was from different parts of Serbia where she got some nice memories.

It was Belgrade, famous Belgrade blocks, Istanicka street, village Umcari, Krusevac, Donji Stupanj, and she visited the graves of her ancestors, and their fields in her birthplace, on a tractor.
