The United States will not grant a visa to any Pristina official after the refusal of provisional Kosovo institutions to suspend import taxes to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the portal lajmi.net reported today.

According to the portal, Washington began to apply concrete measures to Pristina officials after the decision by the Government and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to keep the taxes in force.

Analyst Arton Demhasaj estimated that it is a pressure to convince the government of so-called Kosovo to make a decision to abolish or suspend the taxes.

He is not sure how long will the government of so-called Kosovo be able to oppose the USA and EU demands, he said.

- We saw that the Government of Kosovo remains determined and we will see how long will that last, how will they react to the pressure of USA and EU - said Demhasaj.

He marked that the USA took the matter of taxes "very seriously" and added that it is possible that others will have the sanctions like Washington towards the institutions of so-called Kosovo.

The USA demanded from Pristina to suspend taxes in order to give them the possibility to continue the dialogue on normalization of relations of so-called Kosovo and Serbia, while the prime minister Haradinaj is determined to keep the taxes until they have guarantees from Washington and Brussels that the result of the final comprehensive legally binding agreement between Belgrade and Pristina will be the recognition of the independence of the so-called - Kosovo.
