The US threatens Pristina! Abolish fees or we will introduce sanctions: What's written in the official document passed by the State Department

The US National Security Council and the State Department passed an eight points document according to which the Pristina government is required to suspend imposed 100 percent taxes on products from Serbia or they will otherwise impose sanctions on Pristina, Klan Kosova television reported.

Haradinaj replies that Pristina will abolish the tax after receiving international guarantees that the final agreement with Belgrade will result, as stated, by mutual recognition.

- We are asking for taxes to be suspended right away - stated in the document and it is mention that if that doesn't happen, Pristina will be sanctioned by denying support for the Kosovo Security Forces, reported by Klan Kosova.

The document, as alleged, was submitted in writing to the Pristina government, but also to other competent institutions, indicating that US support for Kosovo is not unlimited.

- Kosovo is currently carrying the weight of danger that the dialogue will experience failure - the document warns.

The document expresses "deep disappointment" because, as alleged, Pristina did not do anything that would be a positive reflection on the letter of US President Donald Tramp sent to Hashim Thaci.

On the contrary, the measures have been extended to other products.

- Success and achievement of the agreement are not linked to the role of Federica Mogherini and the EU. The success of the agreement is a strategic US interest, so it is unacceptable for us to question this strategic goal with the irresponsible moves of Kosovo's leaders - the document says.

In the event that the agreement fails due to Kosovo, the burden of responsibility and consequences will be borne only by Kosovo and the responsible individuals for this failure - is noted below.

It is also alleged that Prishtina's measures were made without any consultations with the United States.

The United States has warned Pristina that its "irresponsible behavior seriously endangers friendship with the United States".

- If the taxes are not suspended immediately, the US will suspend security assistance, that is, the support of the KSF - it is the position of the US National Security Council and the State Department.
