She entered the OR in a wheelchair: Not even a broken leg could stop Dr. Danica Grujic from operating a patient (PHOTO) (VIDEO)
Prof. Dr. Danica Grujicic, head of the Neuroscience Unit of the Clinical Center of Serbia (KCS), helped a patient who needed her expertise even though she had a broken leg.
The doctor entered the OR with the help of a nurse, and she performed her doctor's duty, although many wouldn't have done if they were in the same position.
- Don't look for excuses! Although I depend on other people and their help due to a broken leg, there are those who need help even more than I do. That is why I am in the OR with my team these days. Some obstacles will always stand in our way, but it is up to us to overcome them - the doctor said with the photo she posted on her facebook.
A post shared by Danica Grujicic (@drdanicagrujicic) onView this post on Instagram
- The patients who are here at the clinic are much sicker than I am. The fraction prevents me from walking or standing on that leg, but I am in no pain. I am no hero, simply put, my patients can't wait. I worked my entire life in a certain way and now I can't do anything different. We are coming here even if we are sick to operate, not because we like to operate when we don't feel good, but because we feel enormous responsibility toward our patients - wrote the doctor.
