Theft and violence in the streets of Belgrade, unfortunately, are becoming more and more frequent. Marijana J. from Mirijevo, a suburb of Belgrade, who came to our editorial office, could witness this. She will remember yesterday as the most horrible day because she had to fight for her own life.

Poor Bosnian was a slave whose bones were broken, his nails were torn, and they hoped he would die from pain: Now the torturers will face justice! (VIDEO)

Marijana was returning from the shop around 18:00, and there weren't many people around her. At one moment, she heard loud walking, like running, and she remembered that she kept her phone in the back pocket, so she put it in her bag.

I turned a bit and suddenly, there was a young man in front of me. He had short hair, gray shirt, and we were "face to face". Then he hit me in the chest with an open palm to knock me down on the ground - this woman told us.

At that moment of pushing, the attacker managed to grab the gold necklace, which was his target from the start. Marijana fell down to the floor, and he managed to rip it off from her neck, and he puts his leg over hers.

- I was wiggling on the floor, I tried to resist the violent robber, but he then noticed a gold bracelet on my arm. He was holding me with one hand, and he took off the piece of jewelry with another. I was screaming and calling for help - she remembers the scene.

The robber then left the woman on the sidewalk of Mirijevo and he escaped down the street. Marijana gathered strength and started running after him, but she only managed to see that there was another guy at the end of the street, who was most probably a part of this team.

She gave her statement in the police station and they started the investigation, and as she said, she managed to recognize the attacked since she saw his face.

- I have been living in this area for 30 years. I feel humiliated and violated, as do all the people who were attacked. That is why I appeal to everybody to join forces and to organize an action to capture attackers who go for women, old and powerless on the streets of this city, who were attacked and robbed. I just want to continue to live and to work safely in this city where I spent 50 years of my life - Marijana J. finished her talk with us.
