Djokovic destroyed Anderson for the semifinals of Shanghai: Chinese people amazed and they cheer with Serbian flags (PHOTO)
Novak Djokovic advanced to the semifinals of the Masters in Shanghai, after having eliminated Kevin Anderson from South Africa in the quarterfinals with 2:0 (7: 6, 6: 1).
This was their eighth meeting in official matches and Novak achieved the seventh triumph. They also played on the recent Laver Cup, which still has no competitive meaning.
The first set was crucial and it was settled in the tie-break, where Anderson missed the set ball at 6:5.
Having missed it, Novak got his own gem service and secured a tie-break in which he was convincing and with 7: 1 came to a lead of 1: 0 in sets.
Apparently, the missed chance completely demoralized Anderson, who lost break at the start of the second set and Novak came to a secure lead, which he kept until the end. He will play against Alexander Zverev who won against Kyle Edmund from GB with 6:4, 6:4.
Novak had a lot of support from the Chinese audience who flooded the stands with Serbian flags.

Novak could secure the second place on the ATP with this score and semifinals if Federer loses from Nishikori, whose match will be played today from 13:45.
Finals would secure the second place on the ATP list, no matter what Federer does in Shangai.
