Several families in Dositejeva street in Novi Sad is currently on the street, they escaped their apartments because the walls of the apartments they live in started collapsing.

According to the residents, the collapse of the walls began due to works in Dositejeva 9, where the investor is preparing a ground for the construction of a residential building.

- I was in the room this afternoon when it started cracking. I watched the wall split millimeter by millimeter. A corner of the wall started cracking. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! The floor started splitting apart, the wardrobe that was there fell to the ground, all the things in it well out - Tibor Nanasi, one of the residents, said for InfoNet Vojvodina.

The tenants of the apartments in Dositejeva street explain how they ended up in this kind of situation at all, which caused them to escape their apartments, whose walls began to collapse.

- An investor in Dositejeva 9 started preparing the field for construction of a residential building. They allegedly wanted to strengthen our wall, since these houses are more than 50 years old, and from the beginning, it was clear to us that it would not work out well. He did nothing, he had spent the armature, now he has made an even bigger problem - explains Tibor Nanasi.

THEY FEAR THAT THE ROOF WILL FALL DOWN 

He says the tenants on the left are the most vulnerable, thirteen of them, who live in six apartments, while their neighbors on the right are not so endangered.

- These are all houses made from adobe. They started digging under, and they saw it was dangerous to dig under the foundations. We have now reached the point where the walls are cracked and now, the entire roof is ready to collapse. I just can't describe what we are feeling right now - the upset man said.

His neighbor (a name familiar to the editorial staff) explains that they noticed a few days ago that the wall bent, and they immediately called for inspection, who then determined that the situation is safe. However, it is an entirely different story now. She is retelling a story of a 15-year-old neighbor.

THE WALL CRACKED IN FRONT OF THE CHILD

- The neighbor, a fifteen-year-old girl, came running to us, frightened and she told us that the wall is cracking. We immediately went to her apartment to wait for her mother and in those 20 minutes we could hear and see the wall cracking. You can't imagine how it looked like! Just like in the time of bombing when you hear explosions! Terrible! - she said to InfoNet.

She said that the firefighters came right away, who turned off the electricity, and there is an inspection on the field.

- The firefighters turned off electricity because it is not safe, there are inspectors, who will give us the report that it is not safe here. People are terrified, we clearly heard the cracking of the walls, they were seemingly cracking open, and one of them started crashing so much that the neighbors can see each other - she said to InfoNet.

NIGHTS SPENT IN THE HOTEL 

Representatives of the investors promised accommodation in a hotel in Novi Sad.

- Here, I packed my documents and the most basic necessities, we are waiting for them to come to us - Tibor Nanasi said.
