Croatian company director lends money to workers so they could repay debts: He didn't want them to go to work abroad (VIDEO)
Director of Medjimurje company "Tehnix" in Croatia decided to lend the money to his workers so they could return debts to the banks and to resolve the problems of their blocked accounts, convinced that he will help some of them and that he will prevent them from going to work abroad.
Djuro Horvat, the director of the company "Tehnix", built a new factory in Djonji Kraljevac in Medjumurje, with the surface area of 10.000 square meters.
- The entire investment is projected at 100 million kunas, but with the equipment and other expenses, it will amount up to 150 kunas - Horvat said.
There are currently 30 people working in the factory, and there will be around 100 until the end of the year. One of the ways the workers can make extra money is working more than 8 hours a day.
- We helped the workers with loans and they will be able to return the blocked accounts in their banks. That cost us around 250.000 kunas. There is no such thing in Germany. Besides, the workers have their families here, their friends, they play football on Sunday and they certainly like it more than going abroad - Horvat said and points that they see the lack of workers in Croatia as a challenge.
He said that the average wage in "Tehnix" is 1.200 euros.
- The lowest wage in this new eco-factory will be 1.000 euros. We have around 20 returnees from abroad who worked in Germany and other countries and they returned home - he said for eMedjimurje.
