Former US President Bill Clinton was elected to the Advisory Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and he shared that news with his followers on social network Twitter. Clinton received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to ending the war operations in BiH. Former USA Vice President Joe Biden received the award last year.

The Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (ACBH) organized a gala dinner in Washington in the 75th anniversary of the renewal of Bosnian statehood in Mrkonjic-Grad.

I feel terrible for the outcome of the Dayton peace agreement, but it was important at the time to stop the war. You don't need a system like Dayton for political paralysis, because if there are no differences between facts and fictions, you can easily lose everything - Clinton said.

He said that he was honored that he was invited and he recalled how they "worked together to end the war more than 20 years ago".

WE CAN LEARN FROM BOSNIANS

- Honored to have joined the Advisory Council for Bosnia Herzegovina to reflect on how we came together to end war there more than 20 years ago. Given today's challenges, we have much to learn from the people in BiH who have chosen to focus on the future over the past - Clinton said.

Special recognitions were also given to General Gordon Sullivan and Wesley Clark, former NATO commander for Europe and former member of the BiH Presidency Haris Silajdzic.
