A.V. started insisting on an answer, but then B.V. interfered who allegedly told his son to "stop playing around and to go to the bathroom", according to the Novosti.

She said that B.V. brutally beat the boy.

- He made him strip for little things, and then he used to beat him, mostly with his military belt. I can't count how many times he went to school in bruises. Besides the belt, B.V. used the pole and fists to beat the son - A.V. is crying.

According to her, B.V. has beaten their son for the first time when he was just six months old.

- The child was crying and my husband came from work and he said: "Shut him up, I am tired and I want to sleep". I told him to go to other room and to lie down, that he won't bother him. He was furious, he took the child from me and threw him on the bed. The baby fell down to the floor and started crying. And my husband just turned away and went to the other room to sleep - the mother told the difficult story which left Serbia speechless.

Many keep asking A.V. why was she enduring such a family violence for years.

- You don't know the fear, that can't be explained. As if I wasn't a woman, nor a mother, but some animal that has to endure all of that, that is what I felt. I wasn't a human - the mother explains.

The torture lasted to the previous year when the boy tried to kill himself.

- That is when I decided to escape and not to return to the village, even if it costs me my life. My son is now under the constant supervision of the doctors and he takes a lot of medications. I am afraid of traumas because that torture left a permanent mark on my son - A.V. is crying

The boy is currently with mother A.V., they live in a house of her uncle S.S. in Knjazevac. The wife escaped her husband a year ago. They spent around a month in a safe house, and then the uncle secured a shelter for them.

Suspect B. V. was detained for up to 30 days for suspicion that he raped the son repeatedly while he was drinking between 2015 and 2016.
