Macedonian kitchen is the best for Macedonians. It is similar, or almost the same with other Balkan countries, who also love it, and NGO LinkAcross Macedonia showed in an interesting experiment how Americans react to the food and drinks from this region. They gave a group of Americans strange drinks and food for them, and they recorded the reactions which they posted on Youtube.
Ajvar looked like a sauce for meatballs, although it was a bit salty for them. Shirden was something "like a sausage" for a young man, and a woman said that it was really good, delicious. They loved potatoes in moussaka, and they liked tavce gravce.
A young man said that this looks terrible for Kukurek: "This looks awful. I wonder if is it brain food or literally brain food.
Tripe soul looks like tuna, a young man said, and an older man said that he is having a hard time understanding what it is about, and he added: "This will be my last bite".
Everybody likes burek with meat, and the reaction of a woman is interesting: "This is something like a bread version of the French onion soup".
Rolled cabbage was next, and before a woman took a bite, she said that she was afraid, and she said it was a bit soft, and the young man didn't like it.
When mixed grilled meat came, a woman said that she can't take a bit, so she said that she might be eating from the wrong side, while a man said that he hopes he won't end up at toxicology department.
One woman liked Gazoza, and the other said that she wouldn't give this drink to her children. They liked Kocanski rice pudding. They also liked plum jam, although they said it was too sweet.
Boza shocked them. Before she took the first sip, a woman said that she will be very brave because she is in Macedonia, and after one sip, she said that she took medicines with better taste.
