Croatian delegation suspends the visit to Serbia because of the politician Seselj
The incident occurred in Belgrade, during which Vojislav Seselj was swearing at the Croatian delegation visiting Serbia and he was trampling on the Croatian flag in the Serbian Parliament. The Croatian delegation suspended the visit to our country. They canceled the meeting with the minister Jadranka Joksimovic and they retreated to the building of Croatian Embassy in Belgrade, where they reached the decision to suspend the visit.
Why Croatia lacks in workforce: Three reasons why no one wants to work during a season
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic talked and reached such a decision.
It was agreed that the entire delegation will return to Croatia.
It was announced from the office of the president of Sabor (Croatian parliament) that the delegation decided to cancel the visit after the incident caused by Seselj in the Serbian Parliament.
- Despite the very good start of official visit and determination to make the best conditions for improving relations between the two countries, because of this act that severely damaged the dignity of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Parliament, we have suspended the visit - the statement said.
The uncivilized and unacceptable act of Vojislav Seselj is most severely condemned, the stomping of the Croatian flag, the disregard of Croatian symbols and insults at the expense of members of the Croatian delegation and another man of the Republic of Croatia - it was confirmed to N1 by the spokeswoman of the Croatian Government, Suncana Glavak.
Seselj entered the parliament halls, where the location of the Croatian parliament was located. He approached them, as members of the Serbian Radical party said, and he said that he "stomped the Ustasha flag", and he cursed them.
Serbian Parliament President Maja Gojkovic condemned the "brutal attempt" by Radical leader Vojislav Seselj today to jeopardize the dignity of the Serbian Parliament and the delegation of the Croatian Parliament.
- Disrespectful behavior to the state symbols of Croatia, whose delegation led by Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic is in his first historic visit to Serbia, is also an insult to the Serbian people who boast with the tradition of hospitality - Gojkovic said in a statement.
As she stated, incidents and provocations of this kind, whether in Belgrade or in Zagreb, as was the case during the recent visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, will not question the firm resolve of Serbia to build and promote good neighborly relations with Croatia, for the future of our citizens, peace and stability in the region.
