Zagreb's Vecernji list reminds that President Grabar-Kitarovic visited Russia in October last year, which was also the first official visit of a Croatian president to that country since 2009, and the key goal was to renew relations that have been abandoned for years.

The visit was held in the year when the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and Croatia was marked.

After meeting with Grabar-Kitarovic, Putin pointed out that Croatia is an important partner of Russia in Europe and the Balkans, and the president Kolinda said that the Republic of Croatia, as a responsible member of the EU and NATO, but also a country that recognizes the international character of Russia, wants to give a new give a new swing to the bilateral relations based on equality and mutual respect.

Plenkovic: Ask the president about Putin's visit to Croatia

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic commented on the repeated invitation of the head of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic to the president of Russia Vladimir Putin to visit Croatia, and he said that it is probably the part of the agreement from the visit of the president to Russia that happened last year.

- I saw the news. The president clearly spoke to the Russian president after the visit a few months ago. It is probably the part of the agreement from then. This was certainly a talk after his reelection - Plenkovic told the reporters.

When asked what is the appropriate moment for such visit, Plenkovic said that it is something the president should be asked.

- She is developing the dialogue with him (Putin), and she has been doing so for several months.

And when asked if he consulted with the president and whether he knew that she would call Putin, Plenkovic said that they saw each other the evening before.
