Putin's Night Wolves banned from entering Bosnia and Herzegovina: The leader Surgeon proclaimed a person dangerous for national security
The institutions in Sarajevo forbade the entry to the leaders of the largest biker club in Russia "Night Wolves" because they are considered dangerous for national security. Biking excursion under the name "Russian Balkans", led by the bikers Aleksandar Zaldostanov, known as the Surgeon, and Sasa Savic, is uncertain.
"Night Wolves" are coming to Belgrade on 19th March, but according to the Sarajevo "Zurnal", Aleksandar Zaldostanovc, the powerful leader of the bikers, who is believed to be a close associate and a friend of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, was banned from entering Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) yesterday. The ban is also active for Sasa Savic, the president of the bike-club "Night Wolves Serbia".
According to the "Zurnal", the institutions in Sarajevo proclaimed Zaldostanov and Savic persons dangerous for the national security and the decision about banning their entry was already sent to the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Nigth wolves" planned on visiting churches and monuments of cultural and historical value in several cities in Serbia and Republika Srpska from 19th to 28th March. Sasa Savic confirmed for "Politika" that Aleksandar Zaldostanov didn't plan on participating in the bikers' caravan "Russian Balkans", although Sarajevo media tried to speculate that the President of Republika Srpska will welcome him in Banja Luka.
THE US EMBASSY IN BIH
The US embassy in BiH announced on Wednesday, regarding the announced arrival of the Russian "Night Wolves" biker group to BiH, that such visit negatively affects stability, that they are not useful and they should not be supported.
- It is up to the local authorities and relevant institutions of BiH to resolve this issue. We urge BiH authorities to seriously understand all possible security threats - according to the embassy statement, regional television N1 reports.
According to the US Treasury Department, for the first time, sanctions were imposed on "Night Wolves" and a number of their members were involved or were accomplices in the activities that posed a threat to peace, security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in December 2014.
