Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj claims that an agreement has been reached with Montenegro to correct the demarcation agreement, which was signed in 2015 in Vienna.
Plenkovic: Croatian government has no intention to go easy on Serbia
- I am happy that on this anniversary of Kosovo's independence, an agreement was reached on an annex agreement on the correction and ratification of demarcation with Montenegro - Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.
The Kosovo Prime Minister said that the joint statement by the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, "in the format of the annex-agreement, as a necessary legal international instrument, will be the epilogue of ambiguity and long division in society".
In this way, he said, the last obligation of visa liberalization has been completed and the opening of a new chapter on freedom of movement for Kosovo citizens.
The cabinet of Vujanovic announced earlier today that the Montenegrin President and Thaci signed a joint statement that encourages the Kosovo parliament to ratify the demarcation agreement signed in Vienna in 2015.
President Vujanovic's Cabinet announced that he met with Thaci with an intent to encourage the Kosovo parliament to ratify the Demarcation Agreement, which the Montenegrin parliament has already done.
- After the meeting, they signed a joint statement calling on the Kosovo Assembly to ratify this agreement. The joint invitation is based on mutual trust, goodwill and the need for further improvement of relations, while respecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of both countries, fulfilling the obligations of the UN Charter and respecting the European Commission's Strategy for the Western Balkans - stated in release for the press.
In a joint statement, they urged the authorities in Montenegro and Kosovo, to inform each other by diplomatic channels after ratification that the process of ratification of the agreement has been carried out and that it has entered into force, thus creating the conditions for the creation of a Joint Working Group on Demarcation Marking lines.
- This working group will, if necessary, revisit and possibly adjust the sectors in the direction of Cakor and Kulla e Zhlipt, which option is envisaged by Article 7, paragraph 3 of the said agreement - said in a statement from the office of the president Vujanovic.
