THE MOST IMPORTANT SERBIAN BUILDING: 250 people fight for their lives every day in it, and doctors save another 750: Emergency center is celebrating its 30th birthday
Emergency center, the institution that hospitalizes the most serious patients from Belgrade, is celebrating its thirtieth birthday.
Around 1.000 are examined every day in the Emergency Center and around 25 percent of them are the patients whose life is in danger due to serious car accidents from all over Serbia.
Director of the EC Marko Ercegovac says that they have been working hard in the last five years to secure new equipment, space, and to modernize surgery rooms.
- We have rounded all operational blocks. There is very little left to do in 2018. The Emergency Center is a part of the project of reconstruction of 7 hospitals - explained Ercegovcac for RTS.
He added that expansion and reconstruction of the intensive care, and reconstruction of the roof are planned, also the loft, large part of the amphitheater and facade.
- Our main goal is to increase the readiness of all people and to increase the program of donor transplantations to the Europe and World standard - explained Ercegovac.
Speaking about the staff, the director of EC said that there are openings almost every couple of months and he surely hopes that they will reach an optimal number of nurses and doctors.
