Amazing discovery at the bottom of Ohrid Lake (VIDEO) (PHOTO)
Seven ships from the First World War are sunk in Lake Ohrid. Their remains are still hidden at the bottom of the lake near Struga. Submerged ships in Lake Ohrid are investigated and documented by the Akvatek Center for Diving.
Daniel Atanasovski from this diver's club said for the Macedonian agency MIA that the number of flooded ships is not determined yet and that they weren't documented enough.
- A lot of information is available for these ships, their manufacturer and that they were used to transport large cargo - said Atanasovski and adds that there is room for their further research.
The ships are located around 1.000 meters away from the shore next to Struga, at the depth of 6-7 meters.
- The total number of ships is yet to be confirmed, and it is considered that there are 7 of them, two main ships which dragged two more which carried cargo.
The markings "Bolzano, Tedesco & Co" were discovered on them, probably the manufacturer of ships - said Atanasovski.
It is unknown who discovered them, but they weren't searched in detail ever since.
The Akvatek crew together with archaeologist Nikola Paskali will continue to search, document, protect, and promote this place with sunk ships.
