The last little miller: Ognjen is the most hardworking boy in Serbia. He is running a family business and goes to school, the winds and the floods are not bothering him

Ognjen Micic (11) is going to school on regular basis, and when he comes back in the afternoon, he becomes a little miller, and when there is a need, he goes to the family mill in Gornja Ljubovidja, "Novosti" writes.

He is one of the few pupils that are walking in Gornja Ljubovidja in Azbukovica, area in the hinterlands of Ljubovija and he walks an hour every day in Ljubovidje gorge to the main road. From there, he takes the bus to elementary school. And since the days are now shorter, Ognjen is coming back from school during the night.

The life in the canyon by the loud and clear Ljubovidje made him much braver and "tougher" than his peers. Although it is a pretty and romantic place, mountain waters go wild when they turn into torrents that are wiping everything in their path. The snowdrifts are often becoming impenetrable. Nevertheless, Ognjen never skips the school.

- I go to school in rain and snow. One kilometer is not much, and the bus is going every day. How can I not go then - said Ognjen.

There are almost no young people in these areas, only a few old people. Rarely anyone knows about it, only some dedicated nature lovers, hunters or fishermen.

Ognjen lives in a dark house in the gorge with his sister Marija, his mother Smilja, his dad Vlada and grandpa Milomir. Their old family mill is still working.

Ognjen is proud of his watermill which is more than a hundred years old, which is powered by the quick mountain river.

- This is a switch for the watermill. When you pull it, the water comes rushing and it moves the petals on the axel that spins the millstone - said the clear-eyed boy.

Ognjen is simply enjoying while the golden stream of wheat is going down the heavy stone wheels under which a white flour is dropping.
