The Slovenian and Croatian construction sector has experienced a complete breakdown, so the Bosnian companies are becoming the leaders in construction in the region.

A dozen years ago, Slovenian companies, like SCT and Primorje, were working the region and they got the most profitable jobs, in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as well. However, almost all main Slovenian construction companies went bankrupt a few years ago, BiznisInfo writes.

A similar fate has stuck Croatia. Bankruptcy was declared last month in the largest Croatian construction company, VIjadukt. Media in the neighboring country write that the breakdown of the former giant means the final collapse of the Croatian road construction.

On the other hand, the leading construction company Euro-Asfalt from Bosnia is getting all the jobs in the region, much more than in BiH.

It was announced in October that Euro-Asfalt got three important contracts in Montenegro in just ten months, and the total value of the constructions in that country is 65 million euros.

Euro-Asfalt is building one part of the highway Drazenci-Gruskovje in Slovenia, and the value of it is 55 million euros, and that is already the second job they agreed on in Slovenia. Besides, the company is on the way to get another contract in Slovenia.

The head of the company Hamed Ramic said recently that Euro-Asfalt is working more outside of BiH than in it, which is a long-term strategic goal.

Another larger cycle of investments is expected in BiH when it comes to construction of highways, which could additio0nally strengthen the Bosnian companies.

Let's add that Bosnian companies are leaders in the region when it comes to construction of objects of concrete construction.

Company Sirbegovic from Gracanica is building the key objects all across the former Yugoslavia, and perhaps the most important object they have built recently is the shopping center IKEA in BelgradeThe company is active in other markets of the region.
