Stajic family donated blood more than 300 times and they continue to save lives: They have an important appeal for everybody (VIDEO)

When some member of Stajic family from Nevesinje turns 18 years old he is going to donate blood. Around 20 members of Stajic family donated over 300 units of this precious fluid. "They never talked about it, everything started by accident", they said.

- When there was a need for blood, we answered. Ever since the old age of war times when the blood was very needed, we started donating and we are donating to this day - said Dragan Stajic.

- Everybody is here, first, the second generation. We are brothers and first or second cousins. And we are home here - said Srdjan Stajic.

They are very welcome in the blood transfusion clinic and at least one of the family members shows up when there is some blood donation action. They plan on making their own association. The oldest Milutin doesn't even know how many times he donated blood. He is inviting everybody to join their humane mission.

- I would say to all healthy people that it's not a problem to donate blood at least once or twice a year because they will save someone's live. That's no big deal, you shouldn't be afraid - said Milutin Stajic.

They say as a joke that the one who has the least hemoglobin in blood pays the drinks, and they take brother-in-laws into the family only if they have the card that they donate blood.

All Stajic members in Nevesinje have a clear motto "Donating blood doesn't hurt and means a lot". They hope that many will follow their example.
