The representative of the Tijana Juric Foundation Igor Juric said that 93,000 signatures have been counted up to now for amending the criminal law, ie introducing life sentences for killers and rapists of children, minors and pregnant women, which was initiated by the Foundation.
Juric told the Radio Television of Serbia that the collection of signatures is in progress and that he is very happy with the numbers so far, and he said that this is a great victory for all citizens of Serbia.
He added that the petition will be sent to the parliamentary procedure for voting when all the signatures are counted and added that he expects the support of all members of the parliament.
- This is not a political story, I hope and I expect the support of all members of the Serbian parliament - said Juric.
On October 23, Tijana Juric Foundation began collecting signatures for amending the criminal law, ie introducing life sentences for killers and rapists of children, minors and pregnant women in about 40 cities in Serbia. The signing of a petition has now been completed and counting is ongoing.
In order for the amendments to the Criminal Code to enter the parliamentary procedure, it is necessary to collect at least 30,000 signatures within a week.
