Bosnia trembled all night: At least three earthquakes hit Prozor, the Croatian coast was shaking as well
At least three earthquakes struck the area of Prozor last night, and they were felt in the bigger cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on the Croatian coast, Kliks.ba reported.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the first earthquake of 4.5 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded at about 00:46 hours with the epicenter in the central part of the country, not far from Prozor, at a depth of five kilometers.
The strength was big enough so the citizens of Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica and Split who were awake could feel it.
The second one happened four minutes later and its strength was 4.7 degrees on the Richter scale.
The epicenter was located between Prozor and Jablanica Lake at a depth of two kilometers.
Nearly in the same area, only a few kilometers to the west, the third earthquake of 4.3 magnitudes struck eight minutes later at a depth of 10 kilometers, EMSC reported.
All three tremors occurred within the fourth degree of the Mercalli scale.
The fourth degree indicates earthquakes that can wake up some individuals, they can shake parked cars or cause the cracking of the walls and trembling of the plates.
