AGROKOR CASE: 12 associates released pending trial, Ivica Todoric detained
- The County State Prosecutor's Office issued a European arrest warrant for the first-accused Croatian citizen, under the jurisdiction of the State Prosecutor's Office in accordance with the law of the legal cooperation on Criminal matters with EU member states - announced the spokeswoman for prosecution, Martina Mihordin.
The investigation against Todoric, his sons Ivan and Ante, and 12 of "Agrokorov's" managers, as well as auditors, was launched for illegally acquiring around 152.000.000 euros (one billion and 142 million kunas).
It is recalled that the Zagreb County State Prosecutor's Office issued a warrant on Tuesday for Todoric, who on Sunday said that he will return to Croatia as soon as he collects relevant evidence in order to "oppose the joint criminal enterprise of the political elites and their assistants."
Croatian Prime Minister and president of the Croatian Democratic Union, Andrej Plenkovic, said that there was no information where Ivica Todoric was and that he did not want to comment on the judicial process, again rejecting Todoric's accusations at the expense of the Croatian government.
