WE REVEAL THE GREATEST SECRET OF THE SERBIAN CHURCH (PART 1): How priests steal money, where is the money going to, secret vaults, 750.000 euros disappear in the temple of St. Sava each year... (PHOTO)
One of the greatest public secrets in Serbia is: priests are thieves! This is an insult for each sincere Orthodox men... And everybody knows that all priests are not the same, nor they are all thieves... But...
On one side there are most of the orthodox priests, lead by his holiness, Serbian Patriarch Mr. Irinej truly fights to preserve the soul of Orthodoxy, living modestly as instructed by religion, on the other side, the minority is stealing money from donations, lobbying for the similar like them, and the money given to charity ends up in secret vaults and pockets of individuals. Criminals among priests live arrogantly with the stolen money, some even distribute drugs, open jewelry stores, but fast cars, while others live on the brink of poverty, according to the principles of Saint Sava. And they suffer from the insults because of the priests-thieves.
After several months of extensive research involving the team of journalists, Telegraf.rs found documents, pictures, and footage showing that there has been stealing in Serbian churches for years, first of all, in the largest Orthodox church - the Temple of Saint Sava where it is estimated that an annual sum of 750,000 euros is secretly collected from the church, according to our source who is close to the top of Serbian Orthodox Church.
- In this case, the unfair minority made all of us feel dirty in the eyes of the regular world, and to make the things even worse, the highest crime is being carried out for years at the highest levels, - said the source of Telegraf, who insisted to remain anonymous, but he gave all of his claims and evidence to Patriarch Irinej who is prepared to testify and document his claims on court:
HOW THE PATRIARCH ORGANIZED THE INCURSION IN THE TEMPLE IN 2015
- I am going to public with all data and materials because I want to protect the honest priests, lead by Patriarch Irinej, who is determined to see the case until the end, as much as he can, said our source, adding that people around the patriarch have been trying to isolate him for some time, to hide any shady business.
Our source said that those are millions of stolen euros, not only in the temple of Sait Sava, and that laws do not apply to the anarchy in the pinnacle of Serbian Orthodox church, that are valid for other criminals and thieves without priest mantles.
- The entire story about thievery in the Temple came a long time ago from Patriarch Irinej, and he, suspecting of thievery, organized a special team of people who would control the Temple of St. Sava. The first report that came to him had video and audio footages - it completely shocked the Patriarch. He listened and watched the videos from the security cameras, and then he waited for the Archbishop to see if he is about to point out to something, some irregularities, but he said that everything is alright. That was on October 11th, 2015. The Patriarch formed a commission on October 22nd, 2015, all offices have been sealed, there has been incursion in the Temple. The Patriarch asked two civilians to take care of the temple, they ask for the help of the police. The situation was monitored for three weeks. After he discovered the thievery, he relieves all priests of all parishes, the six of them, who were fined up to one million dinars, which they must pay in the next 12 months. Which is nothing bearing in mind that 750.000 euros were missing from the church on the basis of those three weeks. In just three weeks.
SIX PRIESTS WERE CAUGHT STEALING 750.000 EUROS AND THEY WERE FINED WITH 1 MILLION DINARS EACH
It was determined that six priests damaged the temple for around 750.000 euros and they were fined, but, the church constitution doesn't predict hard punishments, so they were transferred to smaller parishes, on the border of the city. Two years ago, in November 2015, there has been a change in the Temple of St Sava. The Bishop Arsenije came to the first place of the temple. However, as the source said, despite the naming of the man the Patriarch has full confidence in to stop the criminal, thefts and unintentional taking money from the bank funds continued.
- After the first report, which was equally shocking, the change was done on August 1st, 2017, and the Bishop Arsenije was inherited by archimandrite Stefan Saric from the monastery Rajinovac. His holiness instructed to perform the change between Arsenije and Stefan on August 7th, as the Serbian Orthodox Church practice instructs, in the presence of the competent archbishop, in this case, the first Belgrade's Bishop, prof. dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic. The change was concluded, and the validity was confirmed by the Bishop Arsenic, as the one who is stepping down, archimandrite Stefan, as the one who is taking over, and the archbishop Vladimir Vukasinovic who did the duties and confirmed that everything went with no problems. However, when one of the copies arrived to him through administration to be verified, his holiness was astonished by the report, considering all the roughest mistakes it had, not even the child in elementary school would verify it, let alone the PhD, then he immediately formed a five-member commision and he was personally in charge of it, to see what was the problem, because this was the second time priests have been abusing the Temple's finances, instead of investing them into the temple.
However, the final dark chapter of this story continues on August 1st, 2017, reveals our source.
