Stefan is the pride of Mostar: Although he lived in poverty, many had helped him graduate from college. And this is how he returned the favor
Stefan Stanic from Mostar became a true inspiration for all young in that area, first of all, for being an excellent student, hard worker and a great humanitarian.
The public in Bosnia and Herzegovina has heard that he comes from a poorer family, just like those 18 percent of people who live below the poverty line, while 48 percent is at its threshold and can't secure one meal a day.
- While grandma was alive, her pension made the things easier, but even then, we were in the category that needed social help - said Stefan, the young man with the above average success in the third year of the University of Informational Technologies.
The poverty is the reason Stefan thought about leaving the studies so he could dedicate himself to making money to live.
- The university costs, but I always managed to get some money. If I had free studies I could focus on my grades. I felt at one moment that while working at night, I have no more time to study or for my obligations to the university, so, something began to suffer. I was forced in searching for another solution or to give up from studying - said the young man for Al Jazeera, who said that he gives programming lessons to his friends, and works part-time for clients a night over a web application.
However, there is giving up because he was contacted by the association "Together for our city" who provided him with the grant of 75 euros, and he has to do 25 hours of humanitarian work.
However, Stefan did his obligations in time, and he even became the part of the time, exceeding the time he spent in participating in many actions.
