Vasiljkovic is charged with war crimes against civilians and prisoners of war.
Vasiljkovic gave his defense and plead himself not guilty last week.
He said that he was a victim of the political process which was already planned up front and that 12 years of life have been taken away from him. That is how long Croatia waited on Australia to extradite captain Dragan to Croatian justice system.
Vasiljkovic was found guilty of two charges of the indictment - the abuse of prisoners at the Knin fortress and an attack on a police station in Glina.
Croatian media said that he was the first commander of the Serbian paramilitary forces Knindza.
After the war, he went to Australia where he was later arrested and extradited to Croatia who wanted him for war crimes.
The procedure lasted a year and 60 witnesses were questioned.
