"Village party" to remember: People of Kikinda broke records in old Serbian games, and one discipline has delighted everybody (PHOTO)

An unusual event that is reviving the memory on the games of our fathers and grandfathers is being held in village Mokrin every year, on the famous Fair ground, not far from Kikinda.

Running in bags, corn separation, making of wells, carrying bags full of grains, are just a part of the games on "Village party" in this village in Banat.

Nesa Cavic, one of the organizers of the "Village party" welcomed us in traditional wares that describe the customs and culture of this area. In a white cloth suit embroidered with a thread, Nesa was a sight of former people Banat who walked down the streets:

- We wish to renew the village games that were forgotten with this party, those who are connected to the village and the atmosphere where we grew up. We created a manifestation and competition of these games, so we included some more games with that, like pulling the tractor, moving of tractor tire and "ajlas", loading and unloading of hay bales - said Cavic.

The best in the discipline "Rolling of tractor tire", one of the most fun games, was Slobodan Pejcic from Mokrin. This capable farmer rolled the tire to the goal in 27 seconds:

- I work in agriculture so tractor tires are familiar to me, I like those disciplines where you have to be dexterous, or the tire will go to another way - said the winner.

"Running in bags" is also a very attractive discipline, lots of ladies tried their luck in this game, but the thirteen-year-old Boris Bulajic from Banat Veliko Selo was the quickest.

- I love this game, I tried running with my friends in the bag and I can say that I had a really great time - said Milica Latinovic.

Village games were really interesting to the guests from America. Twelve young Americans staying in "Terra Panonica" were amazed by the village party that is similar to the games they have in America.

Based on the impressions and smiles, we presume that the group of Americans will visit this village again next year because they had fun in this village, games, and the new experiences they find within "Terra Panonica".

Village party exceeded all expectations according to the president of the local community, Goran Dumitrov.

- We had recorded visit this year of 1.500 visitors from our country and abroad. The meaning of the games is to show how children used to have fun in the village before. Thoys were hay, bricks, and I believe that we revived the memory to earlier times, at least for a moment - said Dumitrov.

With many fun games, visitors and participant got hungry after a while, and the association "Love in a village way" took care of that, members of the moto-club "Ki riders" and the association "Do not forget".

As it goes in Banan, after good fun you have to eat something, and this time there was a fish stew on the menu, roast, and many other delicacies.
