Which 12 warriors is Djordjevic taking to Istanbul? Two more days till Serbia's departure to Eurobasket!
Serbia's basketball team will travel to Istanbul on Wednesday for Eurobasket, where they will play in Group D with teams from Latvia, Russia, Turkey, Great Britain and Belgium.
Coach Djordjevic has two more days to make a decision which two players won't go to the championship.
Unlike previous years when he had a problem of another type, that is, to decide which player is better for the team, he now has to watch the health bulletin. It is not excluded that he will take all 13 players, and to decide in Istanbul, but he wouldn't want to additionally agonize anyone.
Nemanja Nedovic and Nikola Kalinic, who were injured, are currently the problem.
Nedovic's injury (dislocation of the shoulder) is somewhat settled, and now there are estimates if he can be ready for the second part of the competition. While Nikola Kalinic had a back injury from the beginning of the competition, and it could be counterproductive to go to the European Championship.
If there were not so many cancellations, I would have been home already - said Kalinic.
Here's the situation with positions:
Playmakers: Jovic, Micic, Nedovic.
Shooting guard: Bogdanovic, Lazic, Milosavljevic
Small forward: Lucic, Kalinic, Guduric
Center: Stimac, Marjanovic, Kuzmic.
Will this be Serbian team for the upcoming competition (without Nedovic and Kalinic). It's up to the coach and he knows how much he can count on these players.
It is certain that he will take all three centers, Marjanovic, Stimac, Kuzmi, two fours, Macvan and Bircevic, while Kalinic, Lucic and Guduric are candidates for threes.
We have Nedovic, Jovic, Micic, Bogdanovic, Milosavljevic, and Lazic for shooting guards, perhaps one of them will stay. Depending on the right combination, coaches are usually taking 5 shooting guards, 3 small forwards, and four centers, or they take 7 outers and five tall ones ( three centers and two power forwards, three playmakers, and two shooting guards and 2 small forwards).
