Little Vuk could wake up any minute from many years in coma: His mother revealed the latest details of the fight for boy's life

Vuk Erceg (15) who fell in a coma four years ago when he fell down into a chasm in Tasmajdan park, could wake up today, said his mother Irena.

She adds that Vuk is getting better each day, he is moving and reacting, and they are just waiting for the moment he will wake up his eyes and speak, she said in the talk with Telegraf.

- With God's good will he should open his eyes today, he is already awake for me, and now will that be in a day, two, or a month, the God can decide. The time has stopped for us on that 17th April when Vuk fell down on Tasmajdan. I wish if he woke up today, but when will that happen, I don't know, all the pieces have to come together, God, cosmos, positive energy - said Vuk's mother, who greeted us in front of the room where Vuk is staying in the hospital in Tirsova.

- First, I want him to wake up and to look at his eyes and to hear his voice. I am eager of his voice, his hug, I want him to continue going to school, to hang out with his friends, to find a girlfriend - said Irena.

Vuk had a healthy life, he grew up in Moscow, he got in the elementary school "Vladislav Ribnikar", he trained basketball, he was a straight A's student. A child who was a great adventurer. He would have been a second grade in high school now...

IF GOD WANTED IT HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN HIM SOONER

- I know that he feels the love we give him every day. But his fight was not in vain. If he wanted he would have given up much sooner. If the God wanted to take him, he would have done that sooner. As much as we suffered, wanted him to walk, to talk and to laugh, he has it 10 times worse... - Irena said who is expecting the hope and the fate to come true. The moment when her son will come out of the many years of coma.

He has had only one surgery since he fell in the coma - 29th November last year. It lasted for 11 hours, but with the help of the team of doctors, the infection was successfully remedied.

- Vuk should have another surgery next week, which will help move the boundaries. I gathered the team of doctors together with the Ministry of Health, led by the State Secretary. This surgery will be a revision of the previous surgery, and it will help clean the body from infection which was caused by pus that stayed in the organism for too long - added Ivana.

The entire team of doctors is standing behind Vuk's recovery, besides mother Irena, father Ognjen and Irena's sister Maja, and Irena is entirely grateful to them :

- I am grateful to the lieutenant-colonel neuro surgeon Dr. Milenko Savic, the plastic surgeon professor Boban Djordjevic, both are doctors with the Military Medical Academy, then Dr. Bojan Pavlovic, Otorhinolaryngologist of the Clinical Center, then the team of our doctors led by anesthetist Milos Petkovic and the Concilium of doctors in Tirsova.

APPEAL TO THE MINISTRY: VUK NEEDS EMINENT NEUROLOGIST

It is important to note that Vuk has Bioptron light therapy. Vuk's family used Bioptron light therapy at Tirsova clinic but they didn't want to take away the therapy from the other children who needed it, so they decided to find the device on the other side.

- Thanks to the Bioptron light therapy of Zepter company, Vuk no longer has wounds from lying, he has no hematoma from biochemical analysis and his circulation has been improved, and that is why we are eternally grateful to mister Filip Cepter.

I appeal to the state to provide more devices for bioptron light therapy, which is very important for lying patients.

- Since Vuk is on the border of waking up, we need a neurologist, an eminent expert that the Ministry of Health could hire, since Vuk is a unique case. For the past four years, we have brought a great number of experts to our Vuk, and we would like the state to stand next to us and help us - Irena tells us in a conversation, constantly listening for the noise from the hallway and from Vuk's room.

An army of people is with Vuk. His father from 7-15 h and mother from 15 till midnight, and Irena's sister from midnight till morning every day. As she said, they are all in a golden cage, waiting for their birdie to wake up.

- We haven't given up for a single moment. He is our only child. I think that he feels our love and that he is a great fighter and he will not give up on this fight. There was fear at the beginning, you can't touch him, you can't get near him, and now there is cuddling, kissing, touch, his father bathes him twice a week. I buy him shirts, perfumes, I bring music. His father takes care about his diet. He eats with Omega-3 fatty acids, squid, mussels. He did not lose weight, he grew up, he entered the puberty - says Vuk's mom, who shows that the commitment of her and her family goes beyond the borders.

The fight for Vuk's life is an encouragement to many parents who gave up from their children out of ignorance, fear, and absence. 

- We didn't know much at the beginning, but we asked around. When someone important is here, it's easiest to despair, but you won't get anything for it. THere is time for panic, but how can anyone help him if he feels that we are nervous - she ends the story for our portal, Vuk's mom, Irena, woman fighter and a great enthusiast.

And while talking, she is listening to sounds from another room. We can only imagine the feeling of a mother waiting for her son to wake up from coma any moment.

Vuk has just finished his physical therapy in the moment when Irena says goodbye. His room is painted in blue, it has lots of pictures with saints and the entire comfort he had at home was transferred here.

We notice that he grew a lot, and we leave with hope that we will see him awake next time.
