Ivana Spanovic: I don't feel bad about everything, I have said everything with my last jump and the gold will be mine eventually! (VIDEO)

The golden athletic queen of Serbia Ivana Spanovic has traveled to Belgrade from the world championship in London where she lost her gold medal in an astonishing way.

Ivana jumped her best jump in the last series, but the judges have estimated that her name tag on the back has touched the sand much shorter than the real jump (they measured 6.91) and that result was valid.

Our hero addressed the nation and look at the 30th minute of the video.

- Thank you for the welcome. We promised that I will appear ready, that I will have a jump of 7 meters. However, I felt that I lacked in consistency in the jump-off because I didn't have many competitions. I have said everything with the last jump, but the judge has the final word. 

- We have to respect it not because of the competition but for myself. I should keep competing and not have a questionable medal because I know I will fight for it - said Ivana upon the arrival.

She added that some sort of injustice was done:

- Injustice has been done for sure. Complaints of multiple federations have been reported on this competition, some were accepted, some were not. 

When asked how she handled the entire situation Ivana said.

- I wasn't aware how it looked like until I passed the media zone and went to doping control. Only then did Goran come to me to explain what happened. I broke up there.

- I later texted with Tianna Bartoletta, she congratulated me on everything I have done and how I handled the situation. I am used to fighting, I respect rivals, and no one is to blame for failure. You simply have to deserve success. However. I feel good how rivals think about me - said Ivana.

- I don't feel bad about everything because I got messages from the entire world from people who supported me.

Goran Obradovic, Ivana's coach, said that they had to close this story because Ivana has new competitions coming up.

- Now that we are thinking with cool heads, we are aware that we have to close the chapter of this book because the new competitions are ahead of us. We have a new great competition on 27th August in Berlin, and 27th September finale of the Diamond league and we want to regain the first place - said Obradovic and adds:

- The entire world saw this mistake, not only us. That is a global problem now because everybody agreed that it is stupid for a paper to decide the winner in the 21st century. 

- We were all hurt, but they made a decision based on the video, not based on the video analysis of the jump which is now performed.

When asked if this injustice means that Ivana will get a medal on Olympic games in Tokyo 2020. Obradovic said through laughter.

- That spite probably brings something more to our people. We will surely fight even more in the next competitions, but that motive is not good, they forced us to it.

- World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in March 2018, we hope there will be no number on the back, Obradovic said.
