RIJEKA WAS SHAKING, TWO STRONG EXPLOSIONS SOUNDED: Earthquake of 4.1 degrees on Richter scale struck the nearby islands as well

A very strong shaking of the ground was felt in the wider area of Rijeka in 11:35, the epicenter of the quake was 18 kilometers from the largest city of Croatian and it was 4.1 degrees on Richter scale.

The witnesses from Jadranovo and Kraljevica say that everything happened very quickly.

- It lasted for a second or two, it was a little noisy," said a man from Kraljevica, while a man from Jadranovo said that "two explosions were heard and the house shook a little."

- It was uncomfortable. It was the strongest earthquake in my life. Everything was shaking and the noise was heard for about two seconds - said the eyewitness.

Another milder earthquake was recorded by seismologists tonight about three hours after midnight, and the epicenter was in the underground of Peljesac near the city of Drace. The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.3 on Richter, and it was felt in surround places, writes Jutarnji.hr.

There were quakes last night, also around three hours after midnight near Sarajevo, Bilece, and Neum, and strong earthquake struck Turkish resort Bodrum this morning and it was 5.3 degrees on Richter scale.
