A 34-year-old Australian was arrested in yesterday and brought up for questioning to the State Prosecutor's Office in Split due to the incident that happened on Wednesday at 2 AM near the club Inbox.

He was transferred to Split hospital in critical conditions. He was placed in Intensive Care department. He had a brain contusion and internal bleeding in the head, reports Index.

The fight arose when the Australian and 27 year old tried to enter the club. Security didn't let them in and then they moved away towards Bishop's Palace. The eyewitness said that they spoke for about ten minutes, and then there was a physical conflict. Australian allegedly warned the opponent to leave him alone several times, but without success.

They weren't alone, there were around dozen people there.

The clash occurred near the traffic light at Bishop's Palace. There were traffic officers, who immediately intervened, the witness says.

The Australian had 2.0 permille blood alcohol concentration, and he was reported for severe injuries. The detention order was also requested because of the possibility of escape, but the judge took away his passport and ordered him to report regularly to the police.
