Americans have calculated how much Jokic will be worth in five years: Now its a bit clearer why he refused to play for Serbia (PHOTO)

Nikola Jokic is an unavoidable topic these days, and not only in Serbia, and its known why, American media dedicate a lot of attention to the NBA star in the rise lately during the break in the strongest league in the world.

Emir Kusturica commented on Jokic decision not to play for Serbia in his own style: Like it or not, he told the real truth! (VIDEO)

Many of us were personally disappointed with Jokic's decision not to play on the upcoming European championship, but that doesn't concern Americans of course. For them, Serbian center is one unusual "jewel" who will shine among the starts in overcrowded NBA league more than any other in all these years. Someone who could overshadow the fame of many superstars and All-stars.

Time will tell if this scenario will come true, but what is certain so far, is what the Americans are writing these days and that Jokic will "charge" for his talent in the coming years. The amount is so unimaginable in this moment, even for NBA standards!

Its known that the Americans are "freaks" for statistics, and they have a program which can pretty precisely determine how much some basketball player will be worth in five years.

In particular, there is an algorithm in America that is used to estimate the value or the amount of a player's contract and is called CARMELO (Career-Arc Regression Model Estimator with Local Optimization). With it, you can roughly calculate how much a basketball player will be earning in five or more years, taking into account such parameters as height, weight, statistics, years, even draft positions.

According to CARMELO, Jokic is waiting for a tremendous sum of money that will accumulate until 2022. According to the aforementioned algorithm, that's about 281 million dollars!

It is interesting that Jokic's parameters coincide with some of the greatest NBA starts that appeared in the last decades, like Shawn Kemp, Charles Barkley and Andrei Kirilenko...

- The future is bright for Jokic - it is a statement of the author of the text who reminded that Serbian center scored 16.7 points and 9.8 rebounds on average for Nuggets.

Lets remind that Jokic has one of the smallest contracts in the Denver team, which he signed as a "rookie", but it is just a matter of time when he will sign far more lucrative, probably one of the largest contracts in NBA league when he puts his signature down.

If we look at the trend of growth of player contacts in the strongest league because of the larger "salary cap" from year to year, it is clear that Jokic can expect the contract that will knock you off of your feet.

For example, the Utah Center Rudy Gobert renewed cooperation with Jazzers late last year and got a new contract for four years worth 102 million euros and thus became the most paid French athlete ever.

Its fair to say that Jokic has much more potential than Gobert, not to even talk about the technique, feeling for the game, shots for two and three points, and that doesn't exist with the French player...

Perhaps its a bit clearer why the robust man from Sombor decided to "skip" the national team this summer and to focus on polishing his skills and performance.
