High schoolers Nikola Opacic, Mihailo Vidakovic and Nemanja Tadic won with his invention, a smart box for medication, on the competition organized by PROMOS - Organization for promotion of the potential of Serbia. These guys have come up with a tool which should primarily assist the elderly.

On the competition "Entrepreneurs in high school" there were more than 1.500 applied students. Nikola, Nemanja and Marko worked long and hard enough on this prototype to bring their "kid" to the first place.

In ope part of the box there is a medicine compartment, for each day of the week. If he doesn't take the medicine, the box sends an SMS.

The three of them are the students of III / 6 Electrotechnical school "Nikola Tesla" in Belgrade, majoring in computer technician. The winning team DHG, Digital helping group.

- Nicole's uncle takes 13 different types of drugs and the idea came from him. Practically, we were recruited in the classroom to join the project - said Mihailo. Nikola said that the box can help a lot anyone who can't "get a grip" when they should take the medicine.

Nemanja came to the idea of an SMS module, and Mihailo did a coding to make everything functional. When a patient does not take the pills, box sends a message after 10 minutes to a responsible person that the patient did not take his pills. Each patient can have two responsible people who care about him to regularly take medicine.

If the patient is forgetful, the box starts beeping and LED light turns on. This invention is designed specifically for older people who do not use phones or can not cope with their use.

A part of the box is for medications, for each day in the week. By pressing two buttons, it is programmed to beep each time the medicine is not taken.

The making of the prototype costed precisely 2.342 dinars. They ordered parts from China and they work perfectly, Nikola and Mihailo were pleasantly surprised. They would like if someone granted them scholarship. But for now, besides media attention, they got nothing. They still have innovations in plan when it comes to the box for medicine. They plan on making the box adapted to the people who have hearing problems.

Among other things, they have been awarded with foreign language courses, and thanks to them, school got a new laptop.

Fourth phase of the project "Entrepreneur in high school", they say, will be held next year, when they will pass their knowledge as a winners to the next generations. They would like to make mass production, but...

But they do not stop there. City Administration in cooperation with the Science and Technology Park organized a new competition "Startup Idea", which they signed up to together with their older colleagues, on universities.

Actually, Digital helping group is already in the final with a smart box for medicine, including 17 college and 2 high school team. The final is scheduled for Friday 2. June.

- Our chances are pretty solid - Nikola is confident.
