Serbia hidden gem in the middle of the nature reserve: Divine Church at 1,450 meters high from the 3rd century with medicinal springs geyser (VIDEO)
There is Metodje sanctuary East of the National Park Kopaonik, sacral monument which is supposed to have originated in the third century.
What is interesting about this shrine, which covers the right side of the river and Brzecke canyon of the noise, is that it is located in cave at an altitude of 1450 meters.
It is assumed that the church was raised by people from these parts, when they fled from the Turks.
The church is dedicated to St. Methodius, Martyr, Bishop of Lycian city of Patras.
A freco of St Methodius is painted on the wall, on a piece of stone, an image of Virgin Marry with a child Child.
For centuries, on each July 3, the day of St. Methodius of Olympus, a great crowd gathered here who come into the cave, pray to God, and sought medicine for various ailments and weaknesses in a small waterfall of water that flows from the small church.
This date of 1504 was a holy day for the miners. The Turks were forced to enter the window and dig ore. There was a big storm. Lightning lit the mine. Many of the miners were killed in the fire and in the collapsed panes. All that remains is a gathering and a memory to this day.
Many people from various parts of the world visit this spring because they believe its water cures even the most difficult illnesses. Next to the church, there is a geyser of cold water which reaches a height of 10 meters, which was dedicated to Despot Stefan Lazarevic. There is a thick deciduous forests and a sight that is really breathtaking.
Geyser appeared few decades ago and it became constant, the amount of water going through it is not changing.
There are almost 180 abandoned and buried mining pits on Kopaonik mountain.
