He said to wait another half an hour, so we did. At 3:45 we were told that we don't look like the pictures, and that he will give us 150 kuna each, because we are incompetent and ugly - told the student Ana.

To be employed as hostesses, women must meet certain criteria, which usually reads "tall, slender, attractive". They mostly take care of bookings at nightclubs or just fill the space, namely acting like guests. Most of them work via the Internet or agencies that guarantee their security, both regarding payment over contract or work security, considering that they always send the person who takes care of the girls' security.

However, due to the easier and quicker profits, many girls are choosing to work on the black market, in which case they usually agree the wage at the end of the evening. They make from 150 to 200 kuna on average.
