Nostalgia is still strong among the countries in the post-Yugoslav area, where most citizens see more harm than good since the breakup of Yugoslavia, according to a survey conducted by Gallup.

Three out of four citizens of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina believe that the dissolution of Yugoslavia brought damage to their country. Similar to Russian opinion on breaking the Soviet Union, Gallup writes that Serbs have acute feeling of loss as central nation of multinational state.

According to the survey, 81 percent of respondents in Serbia and 77 percent in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) believe that the disintegration of Yugoslavia brought their country harm. In Montenegro, 65 percent of the population, and 61 percent in Macedonia.

Negative attitude in BiH is linked, according to a survey by Gallup, with the frustration due to poor governance. More than in any other post-Yugoslav country respondents believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction (82 percent) and that the economic situation is getting worse (60 percent).

Unlike these countries, Croatia and Slovenia, both EU member states, believe that they benefitedhttp://www.telegraf.rs/teme/bosnia-and-herzegovina from the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia. The survey showed that 41 percent of the population of Slovenia is considered that the disintegration of Yugoslavia brought damage, and 45 percent - favor, while in Croatia, 23 percent of those who believe that they were harmed by the process. Even 55 percent of Croatian citizens think they have more benefit from the breakup of Yugoslavia.

The strongest sense of independence have grown ups in Kosovo - 75 percent of respondents believe that the disintegration of Yugoslavia was useful for them, probably because, as stated in the survey by Gallup, of their "long-standing desire for independence."
