Did you know that Belgrade has its own Leaning Tower? Its true that it doesn't remind of Leaning Tower in Pisaone of the most perfect artistic pieces, this church building in Vracar which is 52 meters tall can be called "Belgrade belvedere", with a beautiful panorama of the whole Belgrade.

They sent photos for the prize trip to the Croatian islands, and they did not see the insolence behind the pillar (PHOTO)

The church itself was build in 1932, and the tower was built 3o years later. At the beginning the slope was barely noticeable, and now the tilt is around one meter and 20 centimeters.

The door of the Catholic church in Belgrade will be opened in the event "Museum Night", where Fra Ilija Alindzak introduce the visitors with unique canopy of Yugoslav architect Joze Plecnik, and the Telegraf team had a chance to peek into the interior of the church few days before the opening, as well as to climb the tower, which won't be available to visitors for security reasons.

Our church can boast with amazing architecture and it was accepted as a monument of culture of Belgrade in 2010.

- So far there was no initiative of the city nor our initiative for it to be within some manifestation - said Alindzak pointing that people massively don't know about the existence of this crutch, and he mentioned an example of one man from Belgrade who studied in Grac and he learned about Joza Plecnik, and he didn't know his architectural work was in Belgrade.

The central space of the church is circular and cylindrical in order for everyone to feel like a part of the same family. It consists from the central circle and 7 semicircles.

The church itself is very tall and has three galleries. On the first level are galleries for the choir and organ because festivals of organs are often held here.

The attic is flat because the original idea of a dome that was to 21 meters high was abandoned.

The main altar is dedicated to Anta, a smaller altars are dedicated to St. Joseph, Francis and the Virgin Mary.

On the Sunday Mass, which begins around 10 hours, about 150 people gather, where Bishop serves the liturgy, and for major holidays they are welcoming members of the Archdiocese which holds mass at 18 h.

What can intrigue visitors is the existence of the confessional, which is represented in Catholic churches. It consists of two parts.

One is for those who do not hear well.

Fra Ilija said that it is not customary that people who are sinful do not fast. They initially have to atone for sins, to access the holy act.

180 steps are leading to Belgrade tower, and when you reach the top, you already well tired, and drench with sweat. However, you can see the entire Belgrade from the "Belgrade lookout". Temple of St Sava, Beogradjanka, Kalemegdan, Bridge on Ada - everything is in front of you.

If this tower were to be reconstructed and prepared for visitors, church of St Anta Padovanski would be real tourist attraction. Until then, enjoy the photos and the beautiful view from Bregalnicka street from 52 meters of height.
