Institute of Marine Biology of Montenegro informed the public that Ulcinj fishermen, Nermin Alic and Fuad Goran, fished a specimen of the rare fish "Black dogfish" (Etmopterus pusillus Linnaeus, 1758).
It was caught in late April at a shallow depth in front of big Ulcinj beach.
After lab processing and taking all morphomeristic parameters, it was found that it is a rare species that inhabits only the southern Adriatic to the depths of over 1000 m.
This species come from a group of cartilaginous fish that can grow up to 60 cm.
These examples are very interesting for further research and show that the South Adriatic basin is really the center of a large number of rare or endemic species, written by the Institute of Marine Biology.
