HIS HEART RUPTURED ON TARA RAFTING: Shock from cold water or impact against a rock are to blame for the death of a man from Belgrade
In the accident that occurred on 30 April at Tara rafting near the town of Foca, Milorad Simic (36) has died, and the autopsy showed that the man did not drown, but his heart aorta ruptured.
According to Belgrade media, his lungs consequently filled with blood.
- This artery could rupture due to shock when the man fell into the water or due to a blow to a solid object. Police and prosecutors are working to shed light on all the circumstances of the tragedy, based on the data collected so far, the death of rafters from Belgrade is likely to be qualified as an accident - said the well-informed source.
The accident was reported to the police on Sunday around 17.00 pm, when the boat with eight people crashed into a rock.
A chamber broke on the boat, which made it lose its stability and it capsized.
- All rafters have fallen in Tara river, and the temperature of the river was about eight degrees. People approached to help from other boats. Unfortunately, they couldn't help Milorad - said an eyewitness.
Otherwise, unfortunate young man come regularly to rafting, 10-15 times, and he was into Latin American dancing.
His body should be transferred to Belgrade today.
