NINOSLAV (56) SURVIVED 35,000 VOLT ELECTRIC SHOCK: Confession of the unfortunate worker from Pirot Hospital
Ninoslav Tosis (56) survived the impossible when he was struck by 35.000 volts electric shock in the local substation where he was fixing a malfunction. He was transferred to the Clinical Center in Nis with serious burns on his right hand and leg, where they are conducting serious research and he is waiting for surgery.
This medical miracle man is still in shock and he doesn't know how he survived.
- I am well now, but i am still not aware what happened, i don't even remember how i got hurt. I only know that i was struck by strong electricity. Its hard to speak for me, i am still shocked. Doctors told me that i will need a serious surgery, i guess everything will be alright - said Ninoslav for Informer.
Branko Brankovic, Chief of the intensive care unit of the Clinic for surgery, thinks that Tosis had a lot of luck surviving that strong shock.
- He received burns all the way from his right hand, elbow to his right foot. He is stable, not in life danger. However, besides burns, Tosic has suffered the fracture of the twelfth rib on the left side because the force of electric shock threw him from the substation - explained Dr Brankovic.
According to the director of the branch of power distribution company Zoran Djordjevic, Tosic was struck when he went with this colleague Jovan Nikolic on a mission to remove the malfunction in substation.
- They went there to see where is the failure, but Tosic carelessly got close to 35.000 volt current. There was a small electric arc and electricity went through his body. He received burns from his right arm down to his right feet... His colleague installer Nikolic was not injured but he is still in great shock from what happened to Tosic and he can not speak - said Djordjevic.
Colleagues are in disbelief of what happened and they wish for quick recovery.
- Ninoslav is an experienced worker with 40 years of service. He was living a quiet life, and since his parents died, he remained in his family home because he has no family of his own. He has a brother in his family who is by his side in hospital. This is a great shock for everybody working with him, because he narrowly escaped death - said his colleagues.
