Slovenia has approved gay marriage: Tomorrow is the first wedding, but they do not have the right to adopt children

Slovenia has approved same-sex marriage under the law that gives gay couples essentially the same rights as heterosexual, except the right to adopt children.

Director of the Civil Registry in Maribor, Ksenija Klampfer, said that the first same-sex marriage in that city be concluded tomorrow.

And other members of the EU legally recognized same-sex marriages, including Britain, France and Spain.

Law on same-sex marriage was adopted ten months ago, after a referendum held in December 2015 rejected the possibility that gay couples could have the right to adopt children.

City officials in Ljubljana said that no same-sex couple were not registered in the Slovenian capital, news agencies reported.
