Suzana was fired because she ate 2 slices of ham at work: Court decision shocked entire Balkan (PHOTO)
Saleswoman was fired in Zadar over two slices of ham, she became a symbol of worker's resistance in Zadar, and wider. All media in region are writing about her today.
Because of her struggle with windmills, there was a protest in the town. Suzana Seso (44) admits taking two slices of ham, but she doesn't believe that she has demolished the trust of the employer, nor that was the reason she was supposed to get fired.
- Yes, i did take few slices of salami before the end of shift, around 19 PM because we worked at the time till 21 PM. Just to fool my stomach and to continue working - said Suzana Seso for RTL Danas.
Even though she already had lunch break, security cameras tapped her. 15 days after that she was fired because she can't consummate food without employer's approval.
Suzana began her real battle when she was returned to work on court order. Zadar County Court upheld the appeal of retail and the process is returned to the beginning. Now she is not working again and she has to pay for the court expenses.
- I am optimistic. Even if i lose again, i will be the winner. Because i am not fighting for myself, i am fighting for all workers in Croatia, and especially in trade sector. I have been there for 15 years and i know what kind of mobbing was present in those shops.
Suzana believes that this only confirms how ordinary people have different rules compared to powerful people, while we are getting fired over small things, employers and their powerful lawyers have the support of the courts.
Suzana Seso battle is still not finished, because she plans on filing a complain to the Zupa court. The support of the public and associations would help her greatly. That is why since the beginning of this case, many media are defending the side of this brave Woman, writes Indeks.hr.
