Tudjman's grandson became Orthodox: His baptismal name is Aleksandar!

Igor Tudjman (37), grandson of the late Croatian president Franjo Tudjman, became Orthodox. Tudjman was baptized in the Orthodox Church, and he also got a new Christian name!

Grandson of the first Croatian president said that he wanted to convert to Orthodox religion and reveals that he got a new Christian name - Aleksandar.

He did this ceremony in complete secrecy, as he said, in one orthodox church in Croatia. 

- I am now using my Christian name as well. Some friends are complaining that it is a Serbian name, and i don't mind it at all, because Belgrade is not foreign to me, nor i have problems with Serbs. I am not Croatian nationalist - said Igor Tudjman.

Tudjman's grandson stresses that he decided on this because he "doesn't divide people by nationality, but what kind of people they are", and then he looked back at his grandfather's past.

- My grandfather Franjo and his family lived in Belgrade, and his two grandsons have Serbian names - reminds Tudjman's grandson.

Igor Tudjman said that he uses his new name in the work he is doing and he doesn't pay any attention what will his family think about that.

- I am now living and working in Cannes, and i am not using my last name Tudjman i don't want for anyone to think that my family is pushing me in my career - adds Tudjman's descendant. He said that he is lucky in Cannes and he is working on new projects.

Igor is a son of Zagreb doctor Miroslav Tudjman, whose uncle was Franjo Tudjman. In his previous statements he said that he is not on great terms with the rest of his family since the war.

Tudjman came to the spotlight of public when he robbed a man from Belgrade V.V. on 7th February 2013 with his wife Natasa, and he spent two years in prison for that. In 2015 he left Serbia.
