Red Star officially asked for the 1946. title to be recognized!

Football club Red Star sent an official request to Football Association of Serbia (FAS) to recognize their title from 1946, club confirmed to the Beta agency.

If FAS grants the request of Red Star, the club will have 28 trophies of the champion of the state. Let us recall, Telegraf was first to write about this subject and opened the file "Championship 1946".

FAS has received the request and sent it to consideration to the legal committee of the organisation. The decision will be brought when the legal commission forwards the official report and interpretation of the request.

- There are certain problems, situation is not simple at all. We will come to the decision wen we receive the official report and interpretation of the legal commission - said the general secretary of FAS to Beta - Jovan Surbatovic.

Surbatovic couldn't say when will the entire procedure end, and that is why the situation is very "complex".

Red-and-whites were first in the championship in 1946 in Serbia in former Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia (FPRY) and they could compete in the first championship of FPRY in season 1946/47.

Croatian Football Federation gave Hajduk another trophy in the same way, because the team from Split was the first in Croatian league in 1946.
